What we accept
Networking Equipment Disposal in Pune: Switches, Routers and the Configuration Inside
Routers, switches, firewalls, access points and structured cabling - with the stored configuration treated as data.
Networking gear carries configuration
A switch or firewall is not just a box. It holds configuration - addresses, rules, credentials, sometimes logs. A factory reset is a reasonable step but it is not the same guarantee as physical destruction of the storage on a hardened device. If that equipment ran a business network, treat it as data-bearing rather than as scrap.
What is accepted
- Routers and firewalls
- Switches - managed and unmanaged
- Wireless access points and controllers
- PoE injectors and network power supplies
- Patch panels, structured cabling and copper
Cabling and copper
Structured cabling, patch leads and bulk cable have recovery value through the metal content and are covered alongside cables and wires. When a floor is being refitted this is often the largest single volume in the load.
Working equipment
Recent enterprise switching and routing that still runs has a resale market that generally exceeds its scrap value. Older and non-working units are dismantled for recovery.
Data handling
Where configuration or logs must be provably removed, that falls under data destruction. For a full office clearance see IT asset disposal.

Where networking equipment comes from
Most of it arrives from three situations: an office refit where the cabling and switching are being replaced wholesale, a datacentre decommission where racks come out together, and a business closure where everything is cleared at once. Each produces a different mix and a different volume, which is why the collection is planned rather than assumed.
Configuration and access data
Firewalls and managed switches hold addresses, rules, credentials and often logs. A factory reset is a reasonable first step but it is not equivalent to destroying the storage on a hardened appliance. Where provable removal matters, that is handled under data destruction.
Cabling is usually the bigger volume
When a floor is stripped, the structured cabling and patch leads frequently outweigh the switching equipment in both volume and recovery value. Cable is priced on metal content - see cables and wires.
Working equipment has a market
Recent enterprise switching and routing that still runs resells. That value generally exceeds a scrap quote, so it is worth having working units assessed rather than weighing them as metal.
Office refits
For a full floor clearance combining equipment, cabling and workstations, the work is scheduled under IT asset disposal.
Frequently asked questions
Does a router hold data after a factory reset?
Yes in principle. Configuration and logs can persist in ways a reset does not fully clear. For equipment that ran a business network, treat the device as a data-bearing item.
Do you take patch panels and structured cabling?
Yes. Copper cabling has recovery value through the metal content.
Do you buy working switches?
Recent working enterprise switching and routing equipment is assessed for resale, which usually beats scrap value.
What about PoE injectors and power supplies?
Accepted with the rest of the equipment.
