Monitor and Television Disposal in Pune: Why Screens Are a Separate Problem
LCD, LED, plasma and old CRT screens - collected as part of a normal household or office pickup.
Why screens are not like other electronics
A screen contains materials that belong in a recycling stream rather than a bin: the panel itself, backlighting, and in older CRT units a substantial glass envelope. CRT televisions in particular are heavy, fragile and awkward, which is exactly why they linger in storage rooms for years.
What is accepted
- Computer monitors - LCD, LED and older types
- Televisions - LCD, LED, plasma and CRT
- Display panels and all-in-one screens where the unit is dead
- Monitors still attached to a stand or arm
Working or broken
Recent working monitors can be rehomed and carry some value. Older, dead or physically damaged screens are recycled for recoverable metals, plastics and panel materials. A cracked panel does not make an item unacceptable - just say so when booking.
Space and handling
Large CRTs take up real volume and need two people. If you have several, mention the count and size when you call so the right vehicle is sent rather than a return trip being needed.
Same pickup
Screens usually travel with desktop computers, laptops, printers and cables. The wider recycling process is on e-waste recycling in Pune.

Why old televisions accumulate
A television that stops working is rarely disposed of the same week. It is heavy, it needs two people to move, and there is no obvious route for it. Pune households commonly hold two or three obsolete screens in storage, which is why screen collections often turn up several units at once.
CRT units specifically
CRT televisions contain a substantial glass envelope and internal structure that requires careful handling. They are the heaviest and most awkward item in a typical household load, and they cannot be compacted with other waste. If you have several, mention the count when booking so the right vehicle and crew are sent.
Flat panels
LCD and LED panels are lighter but contain backlighting and panel materials that belong in a recycling stream. A cracked panel is still collected - it is simply worth less.
Screens from an office
An office refresh usually retires monitors in bulk, often dozens at a time. That volume is handled as asset disposal - see IT asset disposal - because the count has to reconcile against the register.
Same pickup
Screens travel with the rest of a household or office load. See what we accept for the full list.
Frequently asked questions
Do you take very old CRT televisions?
Yes, CRT units are accepted. They are heavy and require handling care because of the glass and the internal structure, which is why they are not a bin item.
What about a cracked LCD panel?
Still collected. A damaged panel reduces recoverable value but does not make the item unacceptable.
Is there value in old screens?
Working recent monitors can be rehomed; older and broken screens are recycled for their metals, plastics and panel materials.
Do I need to keep the stand and cables?
Not required, but cables are collected in the same pickup if you have them.
