Printer and Scanner Disposal in Pune: Including the Cartridges Most People Forget
Laser printers, inkjets, scanners, copiers and multifunction units - with the toner handled properly.
The part that gets mishandled
Most people remember the printer and forget the cartridge. Toner is a fine dust that should not be tipped into a general waste bin, and ink cartridges are a liquid waste. Both are dealt with as part of printer handling here, which is the main reason not to hand a printer to a general scrap collector.
What is accepted
- Laser and inkjet printers, domestic and office
- Floor-standing copiers and multifunction devices
- Scanners and fax machines
- Printer servers and attached networking kit
What decides the value
Business laser printers and copiers in working order retain resale value. Consumer inkjets are mostly recycled for plastics and the small amount of metal and electronics inside. Either way the unit leaves your premises and the cartridge is not dumped.
Before collection
Empty the paper trays and remove any documents. Paper and confidential files are not part of this stream - if you have a stack of records to destroy, say so separately when you call.
Same pickup
Printers usually travel with desktop computers, laptops, monitors and cables.
Booking
Call or WhatsApp 93590 29457. See doorstep collection in Pune for how the visit runs.
Why printers linger in storage rooms
Printers are heavy, bulky and usually dead by the time anyone thinks about them. They are also one of the most common items found in an office clear-out because replacing a printer rarely triggers a disposal decision at the same time. The result is that most printer collections sit alongside several other retired devices.
Multifunction devices hold storage
An office MFD or copier typically has an internal hard drive storing scanned documents and job history. That is a data-bearing component, not just a printer part. If the device was used for scanning contracts, records or client documents, the storage needs to be handled rather than simply recycled with the chassis - see data destruction.
Toner and ink
Toner is a fine particulate dust and ink is a liquid waste; neither belongs in general rubbish. Both are dealt with as part of the printer handling here. Leave the cartridge in place and tell us it is there rather than removing it yourself.
Printers from an office move
When a floor is being cleared, printers usually come out with the rest of the equipment. That volume is handled as a scheduled disposal rather than a doorstep pickup - see IT asset disposal.
Frequently asked questions
Should I remove the toner cartridge first?
Leave it in and mention it. Toner is a hazardous dust and should not be tipped into general waste - we deal with it as part of the printer handling.
Do you take large office copiers?
Yes, floor-standing copiers and multifunction units are accepted. For several units at once, mention the count when booking.
Is there any value in an old inkjet?
Usually little, but it is still collected. Value sits mainly in business laser printers and copiers.
Can you take the paper and files too?
No - paper records are a different stream. Empty the trays and keep or shred documents separately.
